Just Another Member of the Family
When guests ask,
Why you feed me,
Your table scraps,
You give great answers!
When neighbors, Wonder why you,
Let me dig in the yard, You set them straight.
When strangers, Question my size, You suggest they see, My gentler side.
Ignore my frustration, You look over and I, Finally stop barking.
When I sense, Something odd,
About a place or person, You trust my judgment.
And for that,
I thank you: For, Treating me like,
A member of the family!
