More Sneak, Less Capture

There is one thing at which cats excel

That dogs tend to do poorly (to us that’s just as well).

Cats are quite good at being clever sneaks

Dogs not so much, they lack the necessary response

If only they were better at the innocent sell.

This is clearly a priority for the new year

Because from trouble is something most dogs want to steer clear

Knowing their person’s unhappy is bad enough

But that the anger is directed at them is completely awful

It is something they usually come to fear.

So obviously the answer is to get better at not being discovered

And that is the only part of the problem that needs to be altered.

Because a dog only does the things that need to be done,

If it means tearing up the trash, it was for a good reasons

Or perhaps something was up and you needed to be badgered.

If a couch has been chewed it was with good intent

For a dog’s time is always wisely spent.

And so the question is how to get away with this crime

How can they be at their utmost sneaky

So you don’t find out and start doling out punishment.

Once they figure out this major dilemma

You’ll come home and have nothing to say but “Uh”

Because it won’t be clear that the perpetrator was the dog.

Of course! It needs to look like it was the cat.

Oh how delicious, the dog can’t wait to see how kitty feels about that.
